This year we were delighted to welcome Professor Mary Beard as our Guest of Honour, who presented the prizes and gave a speech.

Martin’s family have said that this will be an open invitation to all who knew him.

There have been so many tributes to our inspirational Principal Mr Bacon coming in by email and text to the school. Attached to this news item is the official statement and below is a message from one of our students and a link to a video they made.

]]> Mon, 20 May 2013 11:39:04 GMT http://swaveseyvc.co.uk/news/default.asp?storyID=189&nid=5 Commemorative balloon release http://swaveseyvc.co.uk/news/default.asp?storyID=210&pid=2&nid=5 The school has arranged a 1500 balloon release for the students in commemoration of Martin Bacon, on 24th May, Friday morning at 9am. Ex - Swavesey students are very welcome to attend.

It will be from the school bus park, where all students and staff will gather together to remember Mr Bacon's life at Swavesey.

It is essential you use the car park just off the Fen Drayton road, and walk down from there. Reception will be temporarily closed for the 10 minute (approx.) event, so please do not use the front entrance.

Timings will be prompt as some Y11 have a music or business studies exam that morning, and all visitors must leave the site afterwards at 9.15am.
