Save Energy, Save Money
Categories: School Events

SVC and Green Energy Options are teaming up once again to apply for the East of England Development Agency's ‘Cut Your Carbon’ funding. The aim of the Swavesey Community Energy Explorers project is to help users explore their homes energy and discover where they are consuming and possibly wasting energy. We are looking for volunteers who would like to calculate their carbon footprint online and be awarded the opportunity to have a GEO Duet or Trio in their household for one school term, as a way of monitoring and reducing their carbon emissions.
What is 'Cut Your Carbon'? Cut your carbon is a new funding initiative to encourage communities to work together to reduce their carbon footprint. How will Swavesey benefit? The funding will be used to create a Swavesey Community Energy Project based around the school and its catchment area. GEO’s products are designed to make energy visible allowing you to discover in terms of kWh, CO2 and £ where you can save energy, carbon and money in your home. The community carbon footprint will calculate how much carbon is being produced collectively by the community and how it could be reduced by the use of an energy monitor.
