Swavesey Village College’s success is founded upon a culture of benchmarking practices against those of other schools.

Our partnership with Nene Park Academy in Peterborough, which our Trust sponsors, has broadened our understanding of what works effectively in schools, despite apparently contrasting contexts.

We are committed to sharing our experiences and expertise with other schools.

CPD Training Workshops

At Swavesey Village College’s Training School, we run a variety of continued professional development training workshops throughout the year, focusing on different themes.

Take your pick from our calendar of full day courses, or choose one of our twilight sessions if you are looking for a taster.

These workshops are open to all schools and we aim to tailor our courses to your school’s individual needs.

School To School Support

We also provide school to school support, with senior or middle leaders - teaching and support - working with schools on a range of areas, from subject specific issues to whole school priorities. This has included providing advice and guidance, to short term secondments at Swavesey Village College or Nene Park Academy.

We welcome requests from Local Authorities or individual schools that wish to work with colleagues to deliver high quality, innovative results.

Teaching School

In March 2012, Swavesey was designated a Teaching School and, together with Comberton Village College, Histon and Impington Junior School and Parkside Federation, formed the Cambridge Area Teaching Schools, an alliance established to provide teacher training, continuing professional development and school to school support on behalf of the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL).
