House Continents / Form Countries

Each of the 5 Houses in college is linked to a continent, and each of the forms has a country within that continent. The idea is that students in each form group learn a little about a different country every year, and that over 5 years they will learn a bit about a country in all 5 continents.

From September 2009, we have linked out PLTS (Personal Learning and Thinking Skills) work to the countries. This means that as well as students having the opportunity to do some fun activities in tutor times about their country, they also will broaden their knowledge on places around the world, and develop some important learning skills they can use in all subjects.

This is the planned countries rotation for the next few years. Last year we started linking Houses with Continents, with form groups producing assemblies about their country and putting up displays in their form rooms.
