SVC Japan Club

Group PhotoThe SVC Japan Club has existed in its current form since September 2005. It is made up of a devoted group of pupils that meet once a week to study Japanese language and culture.

In October 2007, the Japan Club unanimously decided to pursue an exchange. Much has happened since then. We found a partner school, started an e-mail exchanged and took part in video conferencing. Finally, after incredible amounts of fundraising and planning, we were able to visit Japan and our partner school Kyoto Gakuen Junior & Senior High School in February 2009. And in October 2009, the staff and students of Kyoto Gakuen returned the favour by visiting Swavesey.

We maintain three blogs relating to various elements of our growing Japan Programme.

The Japan Club Blog (svcjapanclub.blogspot.com) - Visit here for frequent updates on our club activities.

The Japanese Class Blog (svcjapaneseclass.blogspot.com) - Visit here for Japanese language learning resources relating to our Japanese lessons.

The Japanese Immersion Course Blog (JIC2010.blogspot.com) - In February 2010, five students from SVC were able to take part in the British Council Japanese Immersion Course. Visit here for photos, videos and reports from our trip to Osaka.
