Trust Status

High Standards and independant learningOn 11th June 2008, Swavesey Village College became a Foundation School within the Cambridge Meridian Educational Trust.  This followed the Statutory Notice period during which there were no objections to the proposals being made.

The Governing Body at Swavesey Village College sought to acquire Trust School status for a number of reasons :

To capture and safeguard the aspirations, ethos and philosophy that underpin school improvement at Swavesey Village College.

To formalise the autonomies that the College has earned with regards to self-governance and school organisation.

To strengthen collaboration and draw on the expertise and energy of partners to support our strategic goals.

To clarify and strengthen the College’s status and intent as it explores response to the challenges that growth will bring.

The acquisition of Trust School Status represents a commitment to maintaining the College’s core values whilst responding positively to changes in education.
